KATIE GRAY, PE

Project Manager

The Professional:

From an early age, I was naturally drawn to math, science, and problem-solving. I enjoyed tackling puzzles and figuring out how things worked. That curiosity eventually led me to Colorado State University, ultimately earning a Bachelor of Science in Civil Engineering. This is where I found the perfect opportunity to combine my love of problem-solving with the opportunity to create practical solutions that improve communities.

I began my career in the public sector with Larimer County, gaining experience on the regulatory environment. After a couple of years, I transitioned into the private sector, where I discovered how much I enjoyed bringing projects to life from the ground up. What fascinates me the most is understanding how every piece of a project connects and working through the complexities to create successful outcomes.

Throughout my career, I've enjoyed solving complex challenges, collaborating with clients and project teams, as well as helping projects move from concept to completion. Whether tackling technical issues or mentoring others, I find the greatest satisfaction in helping people and projects succeed.

Today, I live in the Denver Metro area and continue to focus on delivering thoughtful, well-executed projects while building strong relationships with clients and peers. My professional philosophy is simple: approach every challenge with curiosity, collaboration, and a commitment to finding the best possible solution.

The Inner Flame:

While I enjoy solving complex problems at work, I appreciate activities that allow me to slow down and enjoy the moment. You can find me swimming, hiking, relaxing with a good book, or experimenting with a new recipe in the kitchen.

I've always been drawn to challenges and a little friendly competition. Puzzles and strategy-based board games are among my favorite ways to unwind. At the same time, I love exploring new places, seeking out new experiences, and embracing opportunities to learn and grow.

Travel has been one of the most rewarding ways to satisfy that sense of exploration. My husband, whom I've been lucky enough to know since high school, has been my partner on these adventures. Together, we've visited some incredible destinations, including Wengen, Switzerland, with its breathtaking mountain scenery, and Rome, Italy, with fascinating history and culture. We are always looking for the next location to cross off our bucket list.

In the meantime at home, life revolves around my two spoiled dogs who never let us forget who really runs the household. As life has evolved, I've come to appreciate the balance between pursuing new adventures and enjoying the simple moments with family, friends, and the people who matter most.
